Cover plates for bridge piers Amsterdam

Commissioned by Mobilis BV, our subsidiary Sterk Beton supplied cover plates for bridges 2060 and 2080 in Amsterdam. Mobilis is constructing these two new bridges, which will connect Haveneiland with Centrumeiland and Strandeiland. One of the challenges of this project was installing these cover plates between the already installed, imposing truss girders. The cover plates were therefore cut with great precision around the support points of the girders and, fortunately, could be installed in dry conditions. A drainage system has been provided beneath the plates, and light fittings have also been integrated into them for the illumination of the bridge. Due to the imposing girders, the plates appear smaller than they actually are: the cover plates are 5.30 m long and the end plates measure 5.30 by 2.75 metres. The plates are rounded on all sides and were supplied and manufactured by Sterk Beton in accordance with the stringent CUR100 requirements. We thank Mobilis for the pleasant collaboration!
