New Karwei Store Opens in Utrecht Overvecht

On Tuesday 2 April 2025, the doors officially opened to a fully renovated Karwei DIY store in Utrecht Overvecht. The opening marks a significant milestone in the redevelopment of the shopping area on Seinedreef, where Rova – a subsidiary of De Hoop Terneuzen – has been active since 2003 with its DIY store concept.

The new Karwei has been established in an existing building that previously housed an outlet store. Covering a retail floor space of 2,200 m², a modern and fully equipped DIY store has been developed, tailored entirely to the needs and preferences of the local market. Customers can find Karwei’s well-known range of products for DIY, home improvement, and interior decoration. Unique to this location is the addition of an indoor garden furniture outlet – a first within the Karwei network.

A Key Step in Area Development

This renovation not only represents a qualitative upgrade of the existing offer but also contributes to the broader urban development of the Utrecht Overvecht district. The opening of the new Karwei supports the municipality of Utrecht’s vision to breathe new life into the area and transform it into a more appealing residential and commercial zone.
